Kristin and I met on a prior shoot for a promotional poster for a movie. We chatted during the shoot and she mentioned she was engaged. We stayed in touch and then the day came when she called to hire me to photograph her bridal shower. I love capturing the intimate moments in the bride-to-be’s life. She held a party with about 60 friends, some from college, actress friends, her mom, sister and even the groom made an appearance. (Then we kicked him out: Ladies Only).
The party was co-hosted by a close friend at her 1930’s house in Westwood. She had renovated this house, and it was a beauty. Mix that with beautiful women in pretty dresses and you have yourself a perfect party!
Kristin’s friend prepared the scrumptious lunch (which I did get to partake in) and dessert was mini-Sprinkles cupcakes: salted caramel, chocolate, red velvet and vanilla.
This group was all smiles and hugs. Drink of choice was pink champagne by Veuve Clicquot or a Bellini with fresh peach puree… you really can't get more Hollywood glam than that!
Oh, did I mention I won one of the games? I was invited to play, and who can turn down fun prizes?
The game had to do with famous couples. Basically a sticker goes on your back and you have to figure out who it is with questions and then find the the other half of the couple. Guess who I had? Nala. Who knows the other half? Good thing I love Disney.
Did you see the clothes pins in the photos? That's how you keep score for the other game. You can’t say "wedding" or cross your legs. Sounds easy enough. I was mid shooting when someone points at me: my legs were crossed! I lost one of the two clothes pins I started with. So much fun! I feel this is a game one can play at any party and I will win one day, maybe when I am not shooting.
Kristin's friends all watched as she opened gifts, everything from a homemade cake to housewares to a few things to wear on the honeymoon. One could see that everyone wished Dennis and Kristin their best life together. So do I.
